If your radio has the Ford V Serial Number ( and you have checked the small database at the top /1st message of this Forum ) then it will not normally be available for free as access is required to the Ford factory database (unless you can blag it for free from Ford)
A recommended cheap and reliable place is here
www.ukbookshelf.co.uk/fordv
Otherwise try your Ford Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service

Re: Obtaining 6000 CD Serial Number
Hi there - just got myself an old Ford Fusion - on test driving it, radio was working fine. The garage had to look at the gearbox, and now I've picked it up again, I've noticed radio asking for code.
Its a 6000 CD one, the type with a silver eject button.
I have a keycode card and manual, both say the unit type is an FDB300 type, serial number V010621 and keycode 3023.
However, I have tried entering the code in 3 times and had no success.
I use the 5 key to commit the code, but get the error - I've tried with the engine on and off.
Any ideas, or can anyone confirm the code from the details? Is an FDB300 a 6000 CD radio type?
Thanks in advance

Make sure you are quoting the correct Serial Number as any numbers found in car documents , audio guides etc. are often incorrect.
Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number
Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing
Radio removal instructions can be found here
