radio code starting with the letter v

Am Right in thinking that ford radio codes starting with the letter v can only be accessed via the ford database or something similar? Or can I obtain it for free somewhere?

FORD V SERIAL NUMBER CODES
If your radio has the Ford V Serial Number then it will not normally be available for free as access is required to the Ford factory database (unless you can blag it for free from Ford)
