stereo code for m series not working

Hi,i hope im posting in the right place,i have a ford rds 4500 eon cd/radio that i bought second hand ,when i put the code in and press button 5 the radio turns off,and when i turn it back on it asks for the code again,the code im using is from a code generator and matches the code given to me by the supplier of the radio,any ideas please

Make sure you are quoting the correct Serial Number as any numbers found in car documents , audio guides etc. are often incorrect.
Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number
Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing
