Code needed for 600CD Ford Mondeo.

Replaced battery and radio is asking for code. I don't have the users manual or code. I've tried in vain to remove the radio for the code. I've pressed buttons 6 and 1 to see if code would appear, several different codes appear, the first code is FDD2004M007952 so tried putting in the last 4 digits but it doesn't work. Is there any other way I can get the code or will it mean a trip to the Ford Garage? Many thanks for any help offered.
