‘Wait’ on Ford KA 6000aux cd rds eon

I’ve just bought a KA second hand and I have the code but I can’t put it in as it always says ‘wait’. Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to fix this so that I can put the code in please?

Leave it switched ON (without any interruption ) for as long as it takes for the display to reset.
This could take an hour or two
