Permanent 'WAIT' showing on radio.

Got radio code from previous owner for Ford 6000 rds E-O-N. I tried to input it but it then said WAIT (probably wrong code) Not wait 30 secs but just WAIT. It now seems to be stuck on WAIT. This is day 4 and it still saying the same. I removed radio for serial number to get new code but I can't get by this permanent WAIT! If it was locked would it not say so? Any help would be most appreciated as I admit I'm really clueless as to what is wrong.

first I would post serial to see if you have right code
is the radio on the bench or connected in the car

Try pressing Button 6 to see if it resets to

Post the Serial Number printed on the label on the casing so that the correct code can be quoted.
