6000CD How to enter a code when a button is broken

Hi,

I have a 6000CD radio. Button 1 no longer works. Coffee spilled on the radio a long time ago and and button 1 hasn't worked on station selection since. The battery was recently changed so I need to re-enter the code. I believe that the keycode is 1234 (from memory)
I can enter the "234" part of the code but unfortunately I cannot now enter the '1' character. I removed the 1 button to get access to the circuit contacts but this does not work either.

I'd be grateful of any suggestion on how I might get the radio to work.

First check to make sure you have the correct code.

Post the Serial Number

But even then if Button 1 does not work then you will not be able to enter the first digit.

A possible cure is a squirt of Servisol which is a contact cleaner spray used in an electrical /electronic workshop

Available on ebay for around £5

Otherwise you are going to have to buy a replacement radio that works

M037856 code is 6868

Unfortunately the code is NOT entered directly..but by multipressing Buttons 1,2 3 and 4..so Button 1 has to work

Ford Code Entry Instructions for most Ford radios

Once the unit has been turned on the display will show ' CODE - - - -'

Press preset [ 1 ] repeatedly for the first digit
Press preset [ 2 ] repeatedly for the second digit
Press preset [ 3 ] repeatedly for the third digit
Press preset [ 4 ] repeatedly for the fourth digit

To save/store the code press the [ 5 ] key
