Ford V Series Generator

Post by Madrichie »

Hi

I know the V codes are only obtained from Fords, but I've come across this on YouTube

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw0w_k9sDM4

I've downloaded the software, after filling in surveys lol.

I've tried installing it, but keeps on failing, saying it requires certain Windows features.

As anyone else tried it?

I'm happy to give the link to anyone that wants to give it a try.

Regards
Richard

I believe this is a scam . It is there to get you to fill in surveys etc. in order to spam you and possibly add malware to your computer.

There is NO decoder for Ford V Codes as they have to be looked up on the Ford Dealer database

Hi Redrooster

Thanks for replying.

My PC not infected with any malware, I have the premium version of malwarebytes running all the time and I do remove infections from clients PC's as a side job so I know the signs when something isn't right...

When I was installing the program, it needed features to do with IIS 8.5 and other web server features so it would make sense that it could possibly connect to Fords database to retrieve the code.

Thanks again

Believe me...it is a spoof/scam.
If it was genuine and worked then the technical Decoding Forums would be talking about it especially as this YouTube link has been around for a year or two.
No-one has ever been successful in downloading any Ford V Code software because it does not exist.
If you do a Google search for such software then you will find plenty of so called cr@cks and t-rrentz downloads but they are all spoofs/scams...none work.
How many surveys did you complete and what personal infomation have you given away?
