Code Needed?

Hello

I am brand new on here so forgive my "thick-ness". My mechanic disconnected the battery and now the radio needs a code that I don't have. It's not in the log books I have. So I have a few questions...

I would very much like to obtain the code without local Ford dealer charging me money for old rope.

How do I find the serial number of the radio unit?

If I have to remove the radio unit from the dashboard, how do I do this?

I have a 2007 Ford Focus (Lifestyle) if this helps.

Hi, I know little English, but it will help!;;;;;;;;;;;;;
------Turn on the unit
Hold down buttons 6 and 1, and then release 6 (keep 1 pressed).
The unit will then cycle through a load of stuff. The first screen ends with the serial number of the device:
Mxxxxxx
------you will need to remove the radio itself and find the number on the label on the back
